Tractor Repair: 79 or 80 ford 1900 diesel no fuel to injector, key switch, electric fuel

Question
tractor quit running, thought it was out of fuel, put in fuel and can't get fuel to injectors. could pump have quit? thanks jerry

Answer
Hello,

First make sure there is a good flow of fuel from the tank, that the filter is clean, and bleed the air out between the filter and injection pump.  If this machine has an electric fuel shut-off (engine shuts off with the key instead of pulling a knob) make sure there is power to the fuel solenoid with the key switch on.  If everything is OK, then loosen the injection lines at the injectors and turn the engine over until fuel squirts out, then tighten the fittings back up.  If you still can't get fuel to the injectors, then possibly the governor or pump has failed.
