Tractor Repair: wiring starter, positive cable, diesel tractor

Question
I had to replace the starter on a 72 ford 4000 diesel tractor. I know where the ground and the plug on wire go. Where does the positive cable  and one other wire go?

Answer
You need the positive wire on the big terminal of the starter. the other wire goes to either the start side of the solenoid or the where the positive wire went. Use a test light and turn the key see if you have power on the wire when the key is in the start position if you do then its your start wire and goes to the start side of the solenoid.
