Triumph Repair: my spitfire leans to one side., oil shocks, rear spring

Question
hi, in the middle of a full restoration of my spit mk4, put the body back on the chassis, every thing has been fitted except doors and bonnet, and i have noticed that it has a lean on the offside. i just carnt get my head around this, as it seems to be the o/s rear more than anything. on the way to stoneleigh triumph show, one spitfire came flying past us on the motorway, and that was the same leaning to the o/s, so im wondering if this is a spit problem or not. look forward to hearing your oppinions on this matter, regards paul.

Answer
Hi Paul,
It is probably the rear spring either weak on one side or loose mounting in the center. Rear spring is noted for sagging on both sides and many just install gas over oil shocks to help. Unless someone has already put gas over oil shocks on and one side has leaked down.
