Triumph Repair: * 79 Spit Carb *, don hi, troubleshooting suggestions

Howard,
I have a question and I hope you can help me with my troubleshooting. I have a 79 Spitfire (Stromberg carb) converted from a water choke to a manual choke prior to my purchase. Here is my question/concern:
1) Car started ok since I purchased it a few months ago. Now suddenly, it won't fire and fuel pours out of the air intake. Can you walk me through any troubleshooting suggestions?

Hi Don,
If fuel is running out of your air filter you have a float stuck most likely.
If the manual choke is the older Stromberg manual choke you can check it by removing it from the side of the carb and if it has a flat disk with small holes in it, make sure it is spring loaded up against the side of the carb when installed.
