Triumph Repair: fireing ordor, spit fire, john thanks

i have a 1973 spit fire ,do you know 1 through 4 order ,for plug wires.  its a 1500. thanks

Hi John , Thanks for an easy question most of the ones I get give me alot to think about! The Firing order is 1-3-4-2. now the cylinders are as follows #1 is right behind the fan and 2-3-4 follow on to the back of the motor in that order.you can take the plugs out and look in the holes with a flashlight. turn engine over till timing mark is on 0. 1 and 4 pistons will be at the top and you should see them in the holes. take the distributor cap off and the rotor should basically point towards the front of the engine if all that looks ok put #1 where it goes then COUNTER CLOCKWISE 3-4-2 (1 and 4 across from each other and 2 and 3 across from each other.soon it should sing like a bird!!!Dave
