QuestionHi, the van starts first time in the morning, but will not run idle unless I rev the engine for about ten minutes. If I do not, it runs for a bit, then stops. Thanks.
Answercheck the oil quality first of all.
if its old/dirty change the oil. - low oil pressure can make the engine cut out.
Check the fuel filter for sediment/waxy buildup, of present changhe the fuel filter and flush the fuel system with parrafin/petrol.
Q: does the engine smoke at all?
smoke would indicate dirty injectors or other fault such as ECU error, sensor(s) out of order.
