Volvo Repair: A/C Low Pressure Valve, v70 wagon, compressor head

Question
I have had a 1998 V70 Wagon sitting for a year or so and just got it back into operating condition. everything is working fine except the air conditioner. It's only blowing hot air. I have a door-to-door mechanic who says he can service it for me but it's gonna cost me around 350. I've bought an at home kit complete with a canister to dispense used freon and a new can of freon and was just wondering where the low pressure port for the freon is. thank you.

Answer
Follow the fat line coming out of the evaporator at the firewall until you find it. Sorry, I cannot remember them all. But it will be on that line somewhere. Sometimes, the ports were on the compressor where the line goes into the compressor head. You cannot hook up wrong because the high low fittings are different and will NOT interchange. HTH
