Volvo Repair: 1977 Volvo 244 DL fresh air, heater control valve, volvo 244

Question
A while back I asked a question (not sure if it was you or not) about hot air coming out the vents of my Volvo even with the heater controls off.  The answer I got was to replace the heater control valve.  I did that and things are definately better, but . . . I still don't get a real flow of fresh air into the car.  I'm wondering, is this the nature of Volvos, or is there something else I can check out.  Note:  this car doesn't have air conditioning and I'm not expecting it to be cold air coming out of the vent, just a good flow of air in general.  Thanks.  Barry

Answer
Make sure the recirc button isn't depressed on the dash, make sure recirc door isn't stuck, (Center dash all the way down by the floor in back)also check the vacuum line going to the intake manifold that supplies vacuum to the climate system.Lastly, make sure the vents are open
