Volvo Repair: 2000 V40 power drivers seat stuck, volvo dealer, reset button

Question
I've checked the fuse, and it looks fine.  The seat is stuck, and I'm wondering whether I can fix it myself.

Also, the service light is on, and the Volvo dealer told me that the service is not necessary.  Can you tell me how to turn off the service light so I don't have to pay $80 to have it done?

Thanks in advance,
Nathan

Answer
Nathan, That is pretty sad that the dealer would charge 80 bucks to reset the light.  Do this.  Turn key in position one.  Hold odometer reset button in.  Turn key to pos 2.  Keep holding the button.  Wait till service light flashes, then release the button.  Light reset.  As far as the seat, That is one that I would have to look at.  It could be the seat controller or the cable might be streched and would need to be repaired.  Leave this one to an upholstry shop or The dealer.  Roger
