Chrysler Repair: 2000 town/country van: power mirror memory function, power door locks, power mirror

Question
The memory does not keep. The worst is that the mirrors must be reset each time she drives the van.  The memory used to move the seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors when the remote was pressed. The mirrors angle down after about 10 minutes?? Where is the memory stored and can it be replaced??

Answer
Hi Tom,
Do you have the owners manual which describes how to set up the mirror memory. If not, let me know as that may be the problem.
The power seat/power mirror memory module is located under the driver seat on the inboard upper track. It is held in place by torx type screws. The memory function is maintained be fuse #28 in the power distribution box under the hood which is located by itself in the rear end of the box (10 amp). If all the other things that need power when the van is "off" are working (interior lights, power door locks, etc.) then that fuse is good. However you would then want to be sure that the pink wire from that fuse to pin 16 of the 25-pin black plug at the memory module shows that it has the 12v on it as well. If it does, then we need to check the wires between the memory mirror set switch on the dash and the module which I can detail to you via a follow-up q and a.
So let me know if there are any other non-functional devices besides the mirror memory and also whether you verified the voltage on pin 16 as described above.
