Volvo Repair: 1998 s 70 T5 starts but will not pull engine dies and check engine light comes on., s70 t5, trunk area

Question
What is the fuel pump pressure measured at the fuel rail? Can you change the fuel pump with the tank in the car? I have a 1998 S70 T5. Starts and runs but dies trying to drive. The car has 152000 miles.

Phil, pressure should be about 40 PSI.  Yes, there is an access hole in the trunk area.  No need to remove the tank.  Did you try unplugging the air mass meter?  Thats what it sounds like to me without testing anything.  Roger


Phil, no calibration is neccesary, just remove the old one, plug in the new one and you are finished.  Roger
