Volvo Repair: Electrical - 1996 volvo 850 GLT wagon 160,000 miles, volvo 850 glt, dashboard lights

Question
The turn signals (all of them) have stopped working. Hazard lights too. Everything else electrical works normally. My mechanic thinks there is a short but after 3 hours he couldn't  find it for sure. He said he found fuse 13 kept blowing when he operated the hazard lights. When he replaced the fuse, the right side turn signals worked but the left side did not. He found no obvious problems with the harnesses to the left side (front and back). Eventually he got them working and they worked for a day and a half after I picked the car up. Now two days later, they don't work again. Today I was out in the car for about 7 hours. During that time they didn't work except for a period of about one minute when they did work. Last July the same thing happened. The mechanic replaced the hazard switch assembly and it was fine until now.

Also the  ABS and Tracks Off dashboard lights intermittantly come on and stay on. Probably just a coincidence...right?

Answer
Paul, I was going to suggest the hazard switch.  Did he replace it with a new Volvo unit?  Its possible that the switch has gone bad again.  That happens once and a while.  The ABS and tracs is probably going to be the ABS control unit.  Common problem on the 850.  Roger
