Volvo Repair: Brake Squeal, brake squeal, pad materials

Question
Hi Bilbo,
Experiencing loud brake squeal from right rear. Car is 1987  740GLE,  Bendix, non-ABS. Recently put new rotors and pads all around. No squeal before brake job, no squeal from other three wheels after brake job. Just from the right rear. Any thoughts on what could be causing it?
Thanks,
Dick Centurelli

Answer
Greetings,

Loud brake noise can occur if:
Pads glaze up due to excessive heat..
         Exessive heat is caused by:
        Frozen or partially diminished calipers..
Brake pads are stuck or need to be cleaned and lubed
at metal contact areas...use water soluable lube
Todays brake pad materials are noisy.
Use E M P membrane on back of pads..noise gone.
