Volvo Repair: Volvo Water Pump, permatex hylomar, waterpump

I have replaced the water pump on my 83' 240 DL Wagon.  The problem is that the water bypass hose keeps dripping coolant after I have attached it to the waterpump.  Also, what gasket sealer is recommended for the waterpump application.  Since I have to reattach the waterpump, I am going to try using the Permatex Hylomar HPF type.  Please let me know if this will work.

the O ring at the water pipe is probably not in properly or has become torn.I do not use any sealer on the water pump it is not needed.I use a small amount or grease on the Oring and top seal so they do not tear.put grease on the oring this will help it go in ptoperly.
