BMW: 1992 318i, wireing harness, taillight assemblies

Question
Hi Emanuel, I have an E36 318i 4-door.
1) I need to replace one of the orange front corner lenses (on the outside edges of the headlights) because it is cracked. Instead of buying just a new lens, I'm going to buy a whole new corner light assembly.  I want to do the job myself but I have never done anything like this on my car before. Is it difficult to remove the old assembly and install a new one?  If it's not too difficult to do, could you please tell me how to do it?

2) I have the same question for the taillight assemblies, as one of mine is waterlogged and needs to be replaced.  The kit I would buy comes with bulbs and wiring, and I want to know how to get the old assembly out and put a new one in.  Can you help please?

Thank you very much,
Jack

Answer
The corner should be a very easy removal / installation.  There is 1 screw that you have to remove it is visible once you pop the hood of the car and look down on the corner light.  After the 1 scre (phillips) is removed... carefully put your fingers behind the lense (as you would to replace the bulb) and push forward it will pop out.  The tail lights are very easy as well...

Pop the trunk and remove the plastic cover by turning the dial in the center of it so it is horizontal. then the plastic cover will come off. Secondly there are 4 nuts you have to unscrew (10mm)... the tail light will then pop out as well... Be carefull with the wireing harness remove it first before unscrewing the bolts it will make it easier.

I have 1 BMW corner light if you are interested in purchasing it, the tail lights I would recommend a junk yard, ebay or the dealer.

Hope this helps.
Emanuel
