Buick/Olds: 97 buick - stereo in LOC mode, password code, security password

Question
I had to disconnect power to the car and now the stereo is in LOC mode. How can I correct this?
Thanks

Answer
Ok, your radio says LOC, which means that it is LOCKED. It is the same thing that would happen if someone stole your radio and tried to use it in another car. Since it says LOC, that means that a security password code was used to arm the radio anti theft system. If it was you that entered the code into the radio, you will have to re-enter the code to unlock it. If you forgot the code or it wasn't you that entered it in the first place, you will have to bring it in to the dealer to have it unlocked with a factory back-up code. It only takes about 5 minutes.
