Question
i am changing heads & timing gears on a 1983 chevy 350, manual threw me of. i removed the heads then timing gears. before i removed gears #1 was at top, cam sprocket timing mark was at 12 o' clock crank mark was at 12 to, i put them back just like i removed then. the manual says that cam timing mark should be at 6 o' clock & crank should be at 12 also whats the tourqe on head bolts manual says 65 foot pounds

Answer
do the sprockets so the dots face eace other dot to dot  and the heads are  65 ft. lbs. the intake  is 30/35 ft.lbs. do them in sequence and at least 3 times. and you should use a can of stp and with a paint brush paint a coat on all of the moving parts inside the engine.  ok
