Chevrolet: Hard Starting, batery, fuel filter

Question
I have a 2000 Chevy Cavillier with 100,000+.

Most of the time the car starts just fine, but lately the car is not wanting to start.  This is happening more and more often.  One time it will start fine and the next nothing.  It will turn over but not fire.  After about 20 to 30 minutes you can try and it will start after a few trys, but it is a little rough, then it smooths out.  The batery is brand new and there is a new belt and idler pully.  This car is well maintain but driven pretty hard.  This happens on a cool motor and a warm motor.  Could this be a vapor locking problem or something else?

Answer
Hi Dennis, there are many things to cause this, and it could be as simple as a fuel filter. But first you have to determine if its a fuel or a ignition problem. First of all you should do a tune up on it (spark plugs, wires and fuel filter) if the problem is still there you can go from that. I hope this helps you if you need more help just let me know. Regards, Keith.
