Dodge: Hesitation Problem with Chrysler 300M 3.5L, hesitation problem, accelerator pedal

Question
I have recently started having hesitation/surging problems with my 300M.  It started happening right after the A/C belt broke, but I think that may be coincidence.  I suspect a fuel filter or pump problem, because I have had trouble starting it when the car is hot.  I found that after driving it until it got up to temp, shutting it off, and then trying to restart it after about 10 minutes I had to pump the accelerator pedal vigorously in order to get it to start (like it was starved for fuel).  Sometimes it would run really rough and the check engine light would come on.  So I would have to really rev it up to get it to smooth out.  Then, I learned a trick to get around this problem:  If I turn the key to the start position, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it to the off position and repeat this for a total three times it will start right up.  Weird, huh?  This is why I suspect the fuel pump.  I recently changed spark plugs, so I don't think that that is the problem.  Please help!

Answer
If the engine light was on have someone scan the codes on the engine.AutoZone will do this. The codes stored will tell you what the problem is.It could be a sensor of some sort.It could be the fuel pump but i'd have the codes scanned before i replaced the fuel pump.
