i bought an dodge intrepid about six months ago from an auction and i wanted to ask a question i am currently having problems, the engine was cracked and i purchase another from a junk yard and i had an auto shop place it in and i was on the highway and i couldn't get any speed and then there was over heating and the car just stopped on the highway should i purchase anothe engine or is it better off just getting a new car.  the warranty was for 90 days on engine which expired. should i seek help from the auto shop who place the engine within?  the car 1995 intrepid es

Anytime you purchase a used engine,unfortunately this is just one of the problems you deal with.As far as the shop that installed the used engine,it would be just wasting your time trying to get them to do anything about it.And legally they don't have too because they just installed it for you.And the warranty would have been good if the engine had blown while the warranty was still good.As far as my advice as to buy a new car or engine,it would be a lot cheaper on you to buy a new engine versus 20 to $30,000 for a new car.You can go online and have an engine shipped to you a lot cheaper than buying one from a dealer.Do a search online for new Dodge engines.
