Dodge: drive shaft, dodge dekota, grease fitting

Question
I have a dodge dekota ,its a 92 rear wheel drive and the drive shaft is in two parts, in the middle there is a support that has a set of bearrings in it and its connected to the front half of the shaft, im trying to replace it and cant get the support off of the front part of the shaft. can you help?

Answer
You do not have to remove the hanger bearing to remove the u-joints,Put it in a vise and you can pivot the shaft around to get to the joints. You'll need to remove the lock rings on the inside of each cap to remove the caps from the joints. They can be a pain to remove. If you bought new u-joints with grease fittings you will need to turn the grease fitting facing the shaft.Mark the driveshaft with a piece of chalk before removing it so it will be balanced when you put it back on.
