Dodge: 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 rearend noise, dodge ram 1500, driveshaft

within the last month at the dealership as it says to do in the manual this is a very well maintand truck

when I take off from a dead stop I feel a thump almost like the rearend doesent engage as soon as you give it gas also it is postraction . The u joints are fine an the trans.
Answer -
When was the last replacement of the u-joints?Have you changed the rear end oil?It could be the bearings in the u-joints.This is out of the manual,also loose driveshaft bolts.

Ok.I was asking because i was doing some reading from my manual and it states that most rearend noises make a whining sound.And with it making the thumping sound,being that the driveshaft was connected directly to the rearend was the direction i was moving to.Have you had any trouble with the transmission in the truck?
