Dodge: Low heater out-put, coolant level, dodge ram

Question
on my 1995 dodge ram v10 pick-up I get very little heat, water temp is below 200 degrees. I have not taken it to a shop because we have not had a cold winter until recently .Can you give me some advice?

Answer
Check the coolant level, drivebelt tension,If the engine takes a long time to warm up,the thermostat is probably stuck open.If the upper radiatop hose is hot the coolant is circulating and the thermstat is open.If you check these and they check ok i would change the thermostat.
