Ford: tires, ford ranger, computor

Question
What the widest 14 tire size with that will fit on a 1996 ford ranger 2wd it has 215/70r14

Answer
Well, without modifying the body, you can put as wide as will fit. Providing that you have correct rims for the tires and the offset is sufficient.

Just remember that your computor will only accet tires with the same circumference as the stock ones.

The widest recommended tires for that vehicle are listed on the door jamb sticker, but really, you can measure the distance from the inner fender across to the frame or anything else it would hit first.  That distance (in millimeteres) is the first number (or width of the tire).

Ask your tire dealer for a tire in that width that would give you the same installed height (or circumference. and rim diameter to fit.

The rest is up to you and $$$.  tires that tall and wide may be more expensive depending if you want to fit them on a 14, 15, 16 or 17 " and up rim. ANd some combinations may not be readily available, and therefore more $$$.

There you go.

Sorry , I do not have those measurements, nor are they in the manuals.
