Ford: 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 front wheel clicking, cv joint, ford escort zx2

My 99 Ford Escort ZX2 has a "clicking sound" in the front end.  I believe it is in the wheels, as the sound correlates with speed - faster as I go faster.
What might this be? Fair repair cost?  Thanks so much.

the clicking could be a few things.first jack the car up and spin the wheel and have somone under the car to look and listen.the problem could be a wheel bearing,bad brake shoes,or cv joint, or as simple as a stick caught in the wheel.a cv joint replacment cost anywhere from 2-5 hundred dollars depending on where you live.wheel bearing about 50-100 dollars this includes labor.here in ny everything cost more.hope this helps.
