Land Rover Repair: Loud rapid clicking, Car wont turn over., fuel pump relay, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: Hello, My husbabnd recently rinsed out our engine on my 97 Discovery. Afterwards, he tried to move it, and it wouldn't start. We changed the battery and it still won't turn over. Just the loud clicking that sounds like it's coming from the around the glovebox. Do you have any idea what it could be?

ANSWER: The engine control unit, fuse box, and fuel pump relay are all in that general area, on the wheel arch in front of the glove box.  I'd start by looking there.  I'd also check the battery voltage while it's trying to crank and make sure you are not hearing the click of a dead battery

QUESTION: It is a brand new battery. The clicking was coming from a relay under the passenger side, once we removed it, the clicking stopped, but it still won't turn over. Any ideas?

Answer
I still think you have a voltage problem.  Id start by measuring voltage at the battery terminals.  Is it 12V or better when trying to crank?  If not, charge or replace the battery.  Then move down the cables until you reach the starter.  I think you will find there is not 12V and solid ground at the starter power, the solenoid, and the ground lead.

I would also check voltage into the main fuse box

Let me know what those tests turn up
