Ford: Anti Freeze Problem, ford f150 xlt, radiator stop leak

Question
I have a 1994 Ford F150 XLT,with a 460cu/in engine.  The last 3 days,I have smelled coolant, and its very strong. Today, and only today,I noticed a leak, and after looking very hard, found it was coming from around the water pump.  I found a small wet spot, green like the coolant, between the pump and engine, but its a very small spot. Is there a common problem with this?,or is it definetly the water pump?  It hasnt overheated at all,and I dont drive slow either, but i dont beat on it.I was gonna get the radiator stop leak stuff, but would like to hear a comment from a professional before i waste any money on this.  Thank You Very Very Much, and hope to hear back soon.  Once again,Thank You!

Answer
Shaun   spray off the eng. with water air dry it if you can if not try to dry as much as you can with a rag. then pressure test the cooling sys. and this will let you know were it is comming from . if you don't have a pressure tester you neighborhood parts store rents them. good luck
