Ford: 88 Ford F150 fuel gauge, fuel gauge, auto parts store

I will be going to the auto parts store today to get the sending unit.  Could you show me the easy short cut method to replace this unit?

The fuel gauge only indicates the fuel level in the rear tank.  When I switch it over to the front tank it indicates Empty, even though its full.  I've had the fuel pump replaced, and it worked okay for about a week.  What is going on here?  Did I get ripped off?

The fuel pump is not your problem the problem is the sending unit what happens is that they get a pin hole in them and fuel gets inside them and will weight it down so it thinks it's down at the bottom and your empty.the float showld caust about $10.00 to $15.00.but you have to drop the tank.if you want to try to do this let me know when you get the part and i'll will show you a  easy short cut.

yes all you have to do is remove the 6 torxs bolts in the bed, the 3 bolts in the gas filler neck and disconect the rear wiring harness.this is better then droping the tank,  and prop up the bed you may think that the bed is heavy but 2 people can move it easy.the part were you have to raise it up is rt behind the driver side this is were the tank is at.. you could  move the bed back and sit it on the rear tires ant it won't move you could remove it all the way.
