Ford: Ford pickup with high idle, ford pickup, ford f150

Question
1990 Ford F150 118,321 miles with a EFI 302 with an automatic. Recently tuned with new plugs, cap, rotor and wires. The question/problem: Whenever I startup the truck hot or cold it will immediately be at a very high idle (estimate 1,000 to  1,500 rpms). Once in a while it will go along down the road with your foot off of the gas pedal. Also when I go to slow down it will start to lug and skip like it is not running on all eight. If I give it a little gas and it will usually catchup with itself and smooth out. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

regards,

Answer
Duke you need to get a hold of a scanner and look at maf sensor and ck boro were are you located? so this way i could tell you what it should read. but first look at the maf sensor remove it from the air filter and spray it with only with brake cleaner looking at it inside you should see a little wire this is what needs to be clean do this first then let me know.
