Ford: oil pressure problem???, oil pressure gauge, valve cover gasket

Question
I have a 1982 Ford f-150 4X4 pickup. This truck originally came with a 4.9L 6 cylinder. The previous owner replaced it with a 302, unsure of the year. He claims it is a 72 302 Boss. I disagree beause it has six bolt valve covers. The dipstick tube is in the timing cover rather than the block. It also has an edelbrock performer 289/302 manifold and  carburetor. Ther is no emissions or egr system in place, with the exception of a pvc valve in the passenger side valve cover and an oil breather cal in the drivers side.(edelbrock chrome valve covers). I recently tuned it upand found a lot improperly installed stuff, (no vacuum advance, wiring, ect) I installed new vacuum lines and pcv valve The old pcv valve was stuck partially open. I also changed oil and filter. After driving it about 300 miles on a trip I started to develop a lot of oil leaks, valve covers ,timing cover, oil pan, dipstick tube. I checked pcv operation and oil level ect. My oil pressure gauge does not work. I replace valve cover gasket. The new gasket lasted about 100 miles and now is wosre than ever it leaks

Answer
Oil backpresssure is causing oil to exit from the
above mention locations. You need to find the poin of
congestion, ie oil pump screen, dipstick tube, filter,
or return ports at end of each cyl head. TRy an engine flush and open up the return ports at the end of each
cylinder head. My email nelsonauto@g-net.net
