GM-GMC: 1993 gmc k1500, starter battery, dash lights

drove truck everything fine,shut off and went to restart heard a crack noise from somewhere up front like an elecrtrical snap.  Turned key,dash lights buzzer and etc all worked but engine would do nothing ,starter would do nothing and no noise from either. Had truck towed to mechanic where a new starter and battery  were installed,picked up truck and drove home aprox. 55miles. Truck ran fine until the next day when I shut it off in fromt of the bank.....then tried to start and nothing  again with all gages and alarms working but nothing from the starter...battery checks out fine even under load.   I am at a loss and would appreciate any help you can give. I would definately contact the repair facility that diagnosed the first concern and ask them to help you out.  It is possible that they misdiagnosed or had faulty parts to work with.  Be nice though, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.  If they won't help, check for power on the S terminal of the strater solenoid with the key in the start position, and make sure there is power at the B terminal of the starter at all times.  If so, it could be your starter is faulty.
