GM-GMC: 1995 GMC Sierra transmission or transfer?, clutch disc, gmc sierra

Hi, My transmission or transfer is making a knocking noise when driving if I push in the clutch and coast it stops but as soon as I let out on the clutch and push on the gas it starts knocking. Can you tell me if it is the trans or transfer and can I fix it or should I replace it?

Hello Mike it sounds like the transmission those 5 speeds are pretty tough Would pull the trans take a look at the clutch disc pressure plate and the throw out bearing and if I was you while you have it out replace the slave cylinder !!!!IT would really be a bummer to pull it back out in 6 mos or so to have to change that as well!!
