GM-GMC: GMC Sierra 1500, engine cranks, gmc sierra

Hello.  My husband drives a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4.  When he tries to start the truck, it acts like it is turning over, then nothing.  It has a new battery.  Mileage is nearly 90,000.  What could be the problems?

I cannot determine what the problem might be without further information.

The engine cranks, but does not start?  If so, does the engine seem to crank quickly?  If not, does the engine turn slowly and then stop?

Turn on the headlights and then try to start it.  Have someone watch the headlights and send another question with the result.
