GM-GMC: option codes, electronic parts catalog, code definitions

I recently purchased a 1996 Z-71 Chevy truck and was wondering where I might find out how to decipher the numbers on the label on the inside of the glove box door which list the factory installed options .

Hi Dennis - Probably the easiest and fastest is if you just take your VIN into a GM parts department with their EDS Electronic Parts Catalog, they are able to punch in the serial number and get a complete listing of all of the RPO codes on your truck and their definitions.

But, there are supposed to be a couple of sites on the net for this purpose too, but I have never seen one myself.  Try searching with a search engine, like google or go over to www.dejanews.com to the newsgroups like, alt.autos or alt.trucks.chevy and search for option code definitions and variations on this phrase.
