Honda: 1999 HONDA ACCORD EX BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, brake light switch, optical illusion

Hi,
My problem is I tried replacing my brake light switch but the nut is on extremely tight. Is there some way to loosen it myself or should I just it take to a professional?

Not to be cynical, but are you sure you are turning the lock-nut the right way? It's secured at an unusual angle and may be a bit of an optical illusion. I have never had one that required anything special to loosen it. I have replaced hundreds of them due to the high failure rate.
