RV Repair: brake light, power distribution panel, ford chassis

Question
Hi Ron,

We have a Ford chassis/ Heritage  '82 minimotorhome.
I think the brake lights worked when we bought it a few weeks
ago but now they don't. I cannot find the fuses for the tail lights.
the tail light and backup light do work, only the brake ones
don't; which is the same as the tail light? ( same bulb I mean).

I hope that when I find the fusebox location I am just going to
have to replace a fuse. the fuse box under the driver's side
dashboard has no light fuses, so I think there has to be an other
one, but where?

Thank you!

Answer
The chassis lights are the same whether it has a motor home built on it or not.  Keep looking, there is a fuse under the dash somewhere.  You might have a power distribution panel under the hood, look for that as well. Try to find the owner's manual, it will give you a diagram of what fuse feeds what in the panel(s).
Don't forget about the ground circuit.  Lots of times, it's not a power side problem, it's a corroded ground wire from the tail lights to the chassis.
