Honda: Honda Civic check engine light, honda civic, gas cap

Hi,

What does it usually mean if the check engine light on a 2000 Honda Civic comes on and stays on?

   Ceck your gas cap to see if it's tight(seriously)If it turns at all before it clicks that means it was loose and it will make your check engine light come on.If that was the problem then the light will go off on it's own after a couple days.If it is tight already then I recommend you take your car to the dealer it's probably still under warranty anyway.    Ray
