Mercedes: looking to buy a c280, independent mechanic, good mileage

I did not see many people asking about the C280,do they have lees problems than some of the other classes, want would be good mileage for a 1994C289

I do not have specific information on this C280, but any Mercedes of this age will have a high potential for repair problems. Obviously the lower the mileage the better and the geographic location in which it has lived will also affect the service history.
Expect vehicle in a northern climate and along a salt coast to have more service issues.
I would have any vehicle check out by an independent mechanic prior to purchase.
They can spot thing that would not be obvious to the average car purchaser.
