QUESTION: Maybe my choice of the word "programming" was poor. The car battery was disconnected and the seating settings were lost, that the  key used to remember.Keys work fine for unlocking doors, and driving  etc, just have to adjust seats after each person changes them, whereas the key used to remember each persons seating adjustments, of  height, closeness to wheel etc. Thanks again.   John

Answer
John,
It would seem to me there must be some way to reprogram the seat control in the vehicle computer. You could try to hard set the computer and see it will return to default settings. Release the hood latch. Turn off all accessories and the radio. If the seats have manual adjustment, return them to their neutral position. Manually lock the doors.
Raise the hood. Disconnect the battery terminals (-) then (+). Clean post and terminals with a brush. Leave the battery disconnected for at least 15 minutes.
Reconnect the (+) then the (-) terminals. Manually open the door. Then, follow the manual for setting the seat functions.
Good Luck
