Nissan: Nissan Maxima starter, nissan maxima, car wont start

Question
My starter in my 1998 Nissan Maxima with V-6 had been making strange noises the past few weeks and now car wont start. Do you think replacement of the starter is a good place to start or is there any fuse or solenoid I should check first?

Answer
Eric, follow these instructions or you will pay for this many time over. Make sure you purchase a Nissan Starter, dealer only do not use an aftermarket part. This starter is know for failure and the new ones are updated. Also make sure the vehicle has 5w30 oil in it and its full only to the line, do not over fill the oil.
