Oldsmobile/Buick: clock and radio, oldsmobile cutless, cutless ciera

Question
I own a 1989 oldsmobile cutless ciera. The problem is whenever I start the car, I have to reset the time and the radio station has changed. The fuse for the radio is ok. I know what your instructions said, but give your best shot. Thanks for the help.

Answer
James,

Unfortunately my area of expertise is in GM G Body platformed vehicles. Not GM A platform cars(ciera etc.). I can give you a bit of basic advice. Most of these vehicles were equipped with onboard diagnostic computers, miles of wires etc. The clock itself usually has a grounded wire that handles the memory for the clock. If your car was recently serviced in which all mechanics are trained to disconnect the battery then I would start there. Sounds to me like the memory aspect of the clock may have a blown fuse or has a bad ground. Check over the battery wiring to be sure that any acc. leads are properly installed.

James, I gave it my best shot! If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Don't forget to rate my response to you.
