Oldsmobile/Buick: 1986 Olsmobile Eighty Eight, spray glue, body rust

Question
Any thoughts on how to repair a sagging headliner. I don't know if there is a special glue to use. How would you use it, meaning how do you go about putting the glue on the roof with the headliner still in place, but pulled away from the fiberboard still attached to the roof, only the fabric is pulled loose. Also have you had a problem with the driver side electric window. I just bought this car, it was garage kept, single original owner, and only 61,000 original miles, almost no body rust or dents. The window pulled away from the door post channel, and the wrap around window guide [which fits into the door channel, with a small tab which goes thru the window glass, thru a small hole in the glass at the top rear of the window. where can I get these clips and how easy is it to pull the door panel and work on the electric window?

Answer
Mike ,

Headliners in general can be a pain . Remove the molding around the headliner and it should come out in one giant piece . If the headliner is sagging in certain spots then take some spray glue and follow the directions . If you go to Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts , Auto Zone , etc. they should carry a spray adhesive I believe 3M makes .

Look around the automotive store and see if the have a interior panel remover tool . The door panel should come off relatively easy . Most have rings(usually plastic) that bed into a grommet to seat the panel, if you break one off it'll never look right in my experience .

Theres a section in most stores that carries a brand called "Help!" , all the packages are red . GM manual door handles , handle pullers , window tracks , they might carry what you need . Places like Carquest or any automotive repair facility distributor might stock the items you need as well .

If all else fails try a junkyard .

Mike if you have any more questions please feel free to ask .Don't forget to rate my response to you .

Cheers,
