Saab: 92 Saab 900 Ignition Cylinder Flange Sheared, center groton, groton road

Question

Sheared section
I've disassembled the ignition components and identified why the key is just spinning in the cylinder - there are two flanges on the top of a column that connects to the ignition gear set, they are sheared off.

I can't find this part online, but I don't know what I am searching for - is there a part name for this? Is it something I can repair? If so, how?

I've attached a picture of the part. You can see the cylinder, and the two light silver sections on top where the flanges sheared off.

I am thinking that if I drill two small holes on either side of center and insert a small, strong rod in each hole, it will connect with the groove on the ignition cylinder and restore the function. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Rory:

I have a spare one of those that I'd repaird some time ago; if you send me your old one, I'll send you back the spare for $5.00.
