Saab: Starter for 900 Turbo, aspirated engine, problem thanks

Question
Hi. I have a 1984 900 Turbo. I have attempted to remove and replace the starter, unsuccessfully. The trouble I am having specifically is this: I have removed all the ducting, etc required to access the starter mounting bolts, removed the bolts, and removed the electrical connectors to the starter. It is now detached from the engine, but I cannot pull it out because it is "caged in" by the turbo lube/coolant tube, the frame, and the exhaust manifold. I cannot seem to access the tube connection bolts to get the tube out of the way. Do you know of a trick or procedure to remove the starter? Is this a turbo-only problem? Thanks for any help.

Perry:
As I had stated in my "quals", my perdsonal experience is limited to non-turbos; in fact for the very reasons your of your question. Turbos are :extra difficult" to work on and as far as I was concerned, the normally aspirated engine had plenty of power.
Anyway, removing the starter on a non-turbo is very easy; it is a turbo only problem. I am sorry, but I don't have the info. I do have some "good SAAB Manuals" and I'll research them later today and email you if I get more info, if you can send me your email address directly to me at <mrjschwell@comcast.net>.
