Toyota: Passenger door, toyota camry, child proof

Question
I have a '98 Toyota Camry.  The front passenger door will not
open from the outside but will from the inside.  How can I fix
this?

Answer
It sounds like you have child-proof lock in the "active" mode.  Open the door and have a look around the area where the door catches the "car" and locks.  There should be a sticker showing that it's a a child safety lock to prevent kids from opening the door by mistake while the car is moving.  Turning it off is nothing, it's just moving a tab to the "off" position.  You'll probably need a screwdriver just to get some leverage because it's a little hard to do with just you fingets.
