Volkswagen: 1998 Volkswagen Passat security system, volkswagen passat, transponder

I recently purchased a 1998 Passat that did not come with an owners manual.  I have ordered one but it won't be in for a week or so.  Can you tell me where I can quickly get instructions to operate the security system.

basically, when you lock the car, it will lock all the doors and arm the alarm sytem. to disarm the the alarm, lock the car twice using the key (not the remote) (ie. lock, release then re-lock  quickly). other than that, there is no real alteration you can make. the cars immobiliser is built into the ignition barrel and a "transponder" in each key. if the "transponder" is not recognised by the cars ecu, it will not allow the car to run. (will start then cut out after 2-3 seconds). there is no way to remove either, nor permanently disarm them.
