Volkswagen: Lose of Power to Radio, fuse panel, volkswagen beetle

Hello John

  I have a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle Diesel, The problem started when the battery went dead. After jumping the battery the radio would not come on and the CD player installed by factory has lost power. I cannot find any fuses blown. What would my problem be?

if the radio and the cd player are both dead, is the cd player a single disc unit about the size of the radio or a multi changer? as far as i am aware there are no hidden fuses for the radio. just the one in the main fuse panel, and the one in the rear of the set. also does the radio not power up, or say safe then go to 1000 on display?
