Volvo: stall, volvo problems, flame trap

Question
My 1988 740 Gle volvo, I have a year old fuel filter fairly new intake air hose , the other day after leaving home it sputtered and i thought it was going to stop but it didnt and it started up i was afraid to drive so i went home, the mechanic couldnt find anything, is the 02sensor and the flame trap important

Answer
Helene,
Both the 02 and the flame shield are important, but not the cause of stalling. When it stalls you have to find what is not working, is it not getting fuel or maybe spark? Have the shop you use drive the car for a few days and do some testing for you. It would be best if the shop you use is a Volvo shop as there are some Volvo problems they may already know of and where to look.
