Volvo: heat exchange s40, radiator hose, heat exchange

Question
I have a 2001 s40 which has been running fine has about 113000 miles, recently took it in to have 02 sensor replaced and they told me the heat exchanger is split and mixed coolant and oil are running through the engine. It's already overheated due to a cracked radiator hose which was replaced. Is it worth it to buy a new heat exchanger or should I try to sell the car because it will keep needing expensive replacement parts in the next year?

Answer
Ellen,
The mileage is getting to the point where I see the cars needing more and larger repairs. If you are not comfortable with the fact the car may need more repairs as time goes on, time to look at another vehicle. If on the other hand you are will to invest a few hundred in the car to keep it, that is your decision. How well do you like the car? Would you be happier with something new?
