Volvo: dimmer switch, headlight switch, instrument panel

where is the dimmer switch for the instrument panel any why are the headlights and brake lights not working all of a sudden. Just got the car... They worked when i got it but now they dont

Depending on year and model, most have the panel light dimmer next to the headlight switch. For the light that are not working you need to see if fuses are good and power is flowing, switches are good. This is going to require some hands on time to test. Get the car to a Volvo shop.
